The fact of the matter is, the "horrific acts" displayed are commonplace practices that take place everyday on thousands of farms and put the tons and tons of meat on the table of families across the world.

This type of cruelty is so normalized within the industry, and most people never understand the perverse nature of it. I think the plot of this film, which simply switches human and animal roles in the industry, really reflects how insane the meat industry is, and how humans and animals are really not so different when treated like livestock.

Much of this movie is a near beat for beat rip off of the classic horror franchise Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It's more grim than some of the campier sequels but it's also less entertaining than any entry in the series.

I was just bored by the story of some yuppie couple, a meek guy and a whiny girl, as they wonder into a small town, ignore big, loud warning signs, and get themselves caught up in a cannibal conspiracy.

The bad guys wear You're Next animal masks, people are kept in cages, babies are put on meat scales to be weighed, etc.

Yet somehow, with all this going on, the movie is still just unbearably boring. There's no gore, the pacing is glacial, and I completely lost interest in it by the end.

I guess there are some images that are kind of unsettling and the movie is well made but the script is just so awful that there was nothing to be done.

The movie just sucks and I gave it two stars instead of one simply because it was a good looking movie and I liked the score. First off, I like reto-grainy style of the film.

The plot seemed interesting but there are a lot of issues with the film starting with I get what what the point is but it would have worked better as a short film.

Image a writers room full of vegans talking about what they'd like to do to people who eat hamburgers. Just plain bad.

Painful to watch at times. And that's being very generous. It's rather irritating at times. Sound Design Conclusion: This film does not bring home the bacon.

Not worth the time or money. You decide. Well, this was an interesting little film. And highly disturbing.

I agree with one reviewer who said if you are not disturbed by this film you need help. There is not a lot of gore, but the few gory or violent scenes are shocking.

You know the drill. A young couple driving through the middle of nowhere run into trouble. This time it is a cannibal cult on a farm. It is a slow movie, partly because they had enough material for one hour but they had to make it longer to be a feature film.

Sometimes this helps make it more realistic, like you are really watching daily activities on a farm. But then there are scenes, like the one toward the beginning with the rude woman that just seem to serve no purpose.

The directing and lighting is high quality for a first time, low budget feature. Despite what others reviewers have said, the acting was fine.

The script only requires minimal talent from the actors. The director has a great sense of shot composition.

The music was perfect. The only weak point is the script. It is a little one dimensional. No subplot or subtext.

You are simply emerged in the sickening existence of this farm. If this film had been made in the 70s, it would be considered a grind house film.

With the shock value and the weird ending, some might label this transgressive cinema. It is strange to be sure. Don't look for an ending that explains anything.

I made it far enough in to guess everything that was going to happen, but couldn't bring myself to finish it. They tried to create an atmosphere of fear and apprehension on the part of the people trapped in the cages.

But they didn't use cages. The used dog crates. I'm pretty sure I have the exact same one in my living room right now.

All the banging on the locks and desperate attempts to open them were ruined by the fact that they literally could have dismantled the "cage" in seconds, even while inside it.

Just a few quick tugs and off they would be, back on their merry way. It was too much. Don't waste your time on this one unless you're looking for a laughably bad movie.

The plot was good like I felt it they actually put the effort into the plot then it would have been a really good movie The acting was terrible!!!!!

And the suspense was dull The only awesome part I have to say is the ending It dead on was awesome. I found myself able to skip ahead 10, 20, and even 30 seconds to see the same scene is still just a person walking away from the camera!!

Most of the movie is walking. The camera spends its time sitting on the ground. It's like they didn't have the equipment for better shots.

The film could've been a half-hour exhibit and decent, but no. Stick to the classics. This doesn't qualify as a campy slasher either.

I would say that "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" the original and the remake has surpassed this film. This reminds me of "The Strangers" and "You're Next".

But a little weird twisting end. I admit, at first it was so slow, than it got better. Only three stars for me.
